A VICTORIAN OPAL AND DIAMOND BEETLE BROOCH
A Victorian opal and diamond brooch, in the form of a large beetle the head set with rose-cut diamonds and cabochon ruby eyes, to a pair of delicately molded gold antennae, the body encrusted with rose-cut diamonds, to black opal wings with gold underbelly and etched legs, all to a gold brooch pin, gross weight 12.0 grams, circa 1890, with a later detachable ring fitting.
