A Victorian garnet and diamond padlock design pendant, the pear-shaped cabochon-cut garnet measuring 18 x 15mm, surrounded by diamonds, the hinged padlock top comprising diamond set serpent with ruby eyes surmounted by a diamond set pendant loop, all set with old round brilliant-cut diamonds, total estimated weight 2.7cts, all in yellow gold grain settings, glass covered compartment to reverse with gold initials CH entwined in fancy script, circa 1840, original shagreen case, gross weight 16.8 grams.
