A late Victorian set of gem-set bangles, consisting of three bangles, one set with old-cut diamonds alternating with round faceted rubies, the second set with old-cut diamonds alternating with round faceted sapphires and the third set with old-cut diamonds alternating with round-cut emeralds, the diamonds estimated to weigh 2.1 carats in total, the rubies estimated to weigh 0.7 carats in total, the sapphires estimated to weigh 0.6 carats in total and the emeralds estimated to weigh 0.5 carats in total, all to rose gold hinged hoops with safety chains, bearing Austro-Hungarian import marks for 14ct gold Vienna, circa 1890, each bangle with circumference measuring approximately 18.5 cm, gross weight 23.1 grams.

A lovely trio of bangles. Created in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in around 1890, these bracelets are of the half-hoop design popular during this period. Each bracelet features a different stone alternating with diamonds: verdant emeralds, bright rubies, and rich sapphires. The simplistic style and easy design of these hinged bangles gives them a surprisingly modern feel. They are comfortable when worn and would look striking with all three layered and they would add simple glamour and sparkle when worn individually with an everyday outfit.
