. An autumnal wreath brooch which features a wonderfully detailed mulberry leaves separated by shimmering seed pearls. The style of Art Nouveau, meaning ‘new art’ began in the 1890s in Europe. At the 1900 Paris Exposition Universalle, a large exhibit of Art Nouveau jewellery and homewares was shown to the public. The style is characterized by sinuous forms inspired by nature. This piece was potentially made in the United States in around 1900 and exemplifies Art Nouveau style at its finest.
