An exquisite late Victorian lizard brooch. Lizard brooches were very popular in the late nineteenth century, and this is a fine example of the naturalistic style that became popular. The body of the lizard is set throughout with scintillating diamonds, radiant opals, and bright demantoid garnets which catch the light beautifully. The feet of the lizard are finely engraved from yellow gold and add charming detail to this piece. A lovely and whimsical piece.
