A lovely brooch, shaped like a snake. In 1840, Prince Albert had an engagement ring in the shape of a snake made for his soon-to-be wife, Queen Victoria. This brooch, made about 10 years after this famous royal wedding, features the snake motif which became very popular in symbolising everlasting love and fidelity. This romantic piece would look stunning on a silk scarf, blouse, or lapel, and catches the light beautifully.
