A Victorian diamond bee brooch, the thorax set with an old-cut diamond estimated to weigh ½ carat, cut-down-set in silver collet, the abdomen and wings set with old brilliant and rose-cut diamonds estimated to weigh a further total of 1.6 carats, each eye set with a cushion shaped faceted ruby, all mounted in silver and gold, with gold carved legs and detachable gold brooch fitting with safety chain, circa 1880, measuring 4×2.5cm, gross weight 7.6 grams.
