An Edwardian natural pearl and diamond brooch/pendant, centrally-set with a cream pearl measuring approximately 6mm in diameter, between two smaller pearls of similar lustre, to a diamond-set scrolling openwork surmount, terminating to a pearl drop, measuring approximately 7mm, accompanied by GCS Report stating that the pearls are natural of saltwater origin, all set in silver to a gold mount, with detachable brooch fitting, circa 1900, measuring approximately 4.5 x 3.3cm, gross weight 7.3 grams, in original fitted case.

An elegant diamond and pearl brooch. A wonderful example of this period in jewellery design, where we are still seeing elements of the Victorian era, starting to merge and develop into the Edwardian and subsequent Belle Epoque period of design. In keeping with this period, this brooch also can be transformed into a pendant, making it a highly wearable piece depending upon the occasion. As a brooch, this would look perfect pinned to a stylish waistcoat or lapel. As a pendant, suspended from a white gold or platinum chain, this would be the perfect piece for a wedding dress with a V-neck.
