A Victorian diamond-set frog brooch/pendant

Description

A Victorian diamond-set frog pendant/brooch, the head, with an open mouth, set with a large pear-shaped diamond and two round cabochon ruby eyes, the body set with five smaller pear-shaped diamonds and realistically carved limbs and detailed feet, set with old-mine cut diamonds, the diamonds estimated to weigh 2¼ carats, all grain-set to a silver mount and backed in gold, with gold brooch and pendant fitting, circa 1860, measuring approximately 2.5 x 2.6cm, gross weight 6.8 grams.

A whimsicle Victorian diamond-set frog pendant/brooch. This would look wonderful pinned against a woolen jumper, or artfully hung from a gold chain for a unique pendant.
