Description

An Edwardian diamond and demantoid garnet butterfly brooch, the thorax set with an oval mix-cut demantoid garnet, estimated to weigh approximately 0.15 carat, the abdomen set with a further six small demantoid garnets, with ruby cabochon eyes and gold antennae, the wings encrusted with rose-cut diamonds, each wing embelished with a small cluster of circular-cut demantoid garnets, all millegrain set in silver and backed in a yellow gold brooch mount, circa 1910, measuring approximately 3.5 x 2.8cm, gross weight 8.7 grams.
