An early 20th century bee on pillar brooch, attributed to Cartier, the realistically modelled bee, with its abdomen formed by an oval button-shaped pearl, accompanied by GPL report stating to be natural of saltwater origin, the thorax and wings embellished with old European and rose-cut diamonds, the eyes set with two cabochon-cut rubies, mounted in silver and yellow gold, resting on a pillar, the stylobate and necking set with small rose-cut diamonds, the shaft decorated with Cartier’s Pekin Mille Raies enamel, the capital finely carved in the Corinthian order, all mounted in yellow gold and silver, possibly French, apparently unsigned, attributted to Cartier, circa 1910, measuring 3×2.5cm, gross weight 9 grams.
