A Victorian emerald and diamond bee brooch, the thorax and abdomen consisting of rows of alternating-set rose-cut diamonds and faceted emeralds, the emeralds estimated to weigh approximately 1.1 carats, the pierced wings and head embellished with rose-cut diamonds, with a single old-cut diamond-set eye, and the antennas flanked with a single rose-cut diamond each, the diamonds estimated to weigh ¾ carat in total, all mounted in silver and gold, with gold brooch fitting, circa 1880, measuring 4cm from wing to abdomen tip, gross weight 9.8 grams.
