A stunning pair of earrings made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, a widely recognized master in the art of jewellery and particularly enamelwork. These earrings feature an elegant design of enamelled burdocks underneath a layer of faceted rock crystal. The earrings are further decorated with glittering diamonds and each features a pink opal drop. The burdock is a common plant in the southern Russian region where Ilgiz F. is from. The rock crystal suggests the panes of glass of a cabinet of curiosities, behind which can be seen the delicate and masterful enamelwork. The pink opals perfectly match the pink of the enamel on the burdocks, and the black enamel details on the burdocks and the earring posts contrast with the pink perfectly. Ilgiz Fazulzyanov has twice been awarded the grand prize at the International Jewellery Design Excellence Awards, and his work is held in the collection of world-renowned museums including the Kremlin Museum in Moscow.
