A stunning pair of enamel and lapis earrings by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, a widely recognized master in the art of jewellery and particularly enamelwork. These earrings draw on Ancient Egyptian motifs, Art Deco design, and the burdock flower which is a frequent source of inspiration for Ilgiz F. These earrings each feature a fan shaped upper section in which is enamelled two burdock flowers. The fan-shape is bordered by black enamel and yellow gold. From the central section is set a cabochon-cut lapis lazuli stone, from which is suspended a glittering diamond and a further lapis drop. The dark blue of the lapis is perfectly matched by the fine enamel work, and the yellow gold and black details add a gorgeous contrast. This pair of earrings exemplifies Ilgiz F.’s skill and mastery of enamel. Ilgiz Fazulzyanov has twice been awarded the grand prize at the International Jewellery Design Excellence Awards, and his work is held in the collection of world-renowned museums including the Kremlin Museum in Moscow.
