A pair of enamelled parrot earrings by Ilgiz F, each earring with a champlevé enamelled parrot suspended from a plique-a-jour and diamond-set arch with four diamond-set tassels terminating in cultured pearls, the diamonds weighing 2.08 carats in total, all in white and yellow gold mount made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, hallmarked 18ct London 2018, measuring approximately 6.8cm long, gross weight 29.8 grams.
This remarkable pair of earrings was made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, a widely recognized master in the art of jewellery and particularly enamelwork. Each earring features two leaves and four diamond-set fringes, against which is mounted a spectacular parrot in flight. The parrot is rendered in exquisitely detailed enamel, which demonstrates and exemplifies Ilgiz F.’s masterful ability with enamelwork. Each of the diamond-set fringes terminates in a lustrous pearl. The sparkle of the diamonds provides a stunning complement to the detailed enamel birds and leaves. The blue parrot is exotic, and the naturalistic rendering is reminiscent of Art Nouveau design of the early twentieth century. Ilgiz Fazulzyanov has twice been awarded the grand prize at the International Jewellery Design Excellence Awards, and his work is held in the collection of world-renowned museums including the Kremlin Museum in Moscow.
