More informationA pair of Victorian ruby and diamond serpent earrings, encrusted with old-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 1 carat in total, and faceted rubies with estimated total weigh 1 carat, accompanied by GCS Report 5776-3402 stating to be of Burmese origin with no indication of heating, all set in platinum to yellow gold back, each with an green garnet-set eye, later post and scroll fittings, circa 1880, measuring approximately 21x11mm, gross weight 8.92 grams.

These lovely earrings follow in the popular Victorian tradition of jewellery shaped like serpents: serpents appear in rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings from this period.
