More informationA pair of mid-19th century turquoise and pearl drop earrings, each with a triangle centrally-set with a pearl surrounded by twelve calibre-cut turquoises suspending five gold drops, all suspended by a square-shaped top centrally-set with a pearl, all mounted in gold with gold wire fittings, bearing French gold marks for 18ct, Paris 1847-1919, circa 1850, measuring approximately 5.4 x 1.5cm, gross weight 7 grams.
A wonderful pair of earrings. The combination of bright gold, lustrous pearl and creamy turquoise was very popular during the mid-nineteenth century, and looking at these earrings, it is easy to see why. The tone of the gold and the hue of the turquoise and pearl combine beautifully in these nineteenth-century Etruscan revivalist earrings: they are a stylish and alluring.
