This dramatic pair of memento mori earrings was made by the Sicilian goldsmith Gaetano Chiavetta. Inspired by the jewellery of the goldsmiths of antient Venice, the romantic symbolism of the skulls, hourglass, keys and dice all refer to the long tradition of memento mori jewellery.
