A Fabergé round cut glass & silver dish, silver laurel wreath and bow handles, fluted silver rim with a cross relief on either side, circumference of glass with alternate star and grid motifs, bottom engraved with a radiating star, overall measurements 13 x13 x3 cm, gross weight 313 grams, bearing the sponsor marks for Faberge, Moscow 1899-1908.
A lovely dish made by Fabergé. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and best-known jewellery house. The house has become known for their royal commissions and their close ties to the family of Tsar Nicholas II. This dish is made from detailed cut glass with star motifs. The rim and handles are delicately made from silver, which is also decorated with detailed motifs. This wonderful dish reflects the early twentieth craftsmanship of Fabergé.
