A pair of late 19th century garnet and diamond cufflinks, the oval cabochon garnets with applied old-cut and rose-cut diamond set stars to the centre, all to a yellow gold mount with link fittings, bearing French gold marks for 18ct gold, circa 1860, measuring 13.9x 10.6cm, gross weight 12.7grams.

An attractive pair of Victorian garnet and diamond cufflinks. The cufflinks feature two oxblood-red garnets with shining diamond-set stars in a yellow gold mount border. Stars were a powerful motif in this period and were said to bring guidance to the wearer. Stars accented with rose-cut diamonds signified endurance. These cufflinks would add subtle colour to any suit.
