A Prince of Wales Royal Presentation stick-pin, the three feathers set with small rose-cut diamonds, surrounded by blue enamelled garter, to gold pin, circa 1905, unmarked, tested as 9ct gold, the jewelled part measuring 1.6 x 1cm, the pin measuring 6.5cm, gross weight 3.2 grams.
A lovely antique stick pin. It features the heraldic badge representing the Prince of Wales, three plumed feathers emerging from a gold coronet. The motto sits in delicate blue enamel and dates to around 1905 when King George V was Prince of Wales. The use of this badge dates to Edward, the Black Prince (1330-1376), but is used today as the badge of the Welsh rugby union as well as Welsh regiments of the British Army.
