Description

An early 20th century jockey-cap & cane stick-pin, the cap with red guilloche enamel decorations, the finely engraved cane with light-blue enamel handle, to a gold pin fitting, circa 1910, measuring 2.5 x 1.2cm, the pin measuring 6.3cm long, unmarked, tested as 18ct gold, with 9ct gold pin, gross weight 2.3 grams.

A charming early 20th century jockey cap stick pin. The first form of a jockey cap appeared in the late 17th century which then evolved into a lighter form which displayed the colours of the jockey’s stable which allowed spectators to distinguish the racers. This stick pin would be a sweet addition to a silk tie or the lapel of a jacket and is perfect for a day at the races.
