Description

A late Victorian multigem-set butterfly brooch, the thorax set with round and the tail with an oval shaped rose cut diamond, estimated to weigh ½ carat in total, the wings set with emeralds and rubies, the emeralds estimated to weigh ½ carat in total, the rubies estimated to weigh 0.4 carats in total, all set in silver and rose-gold mount, with gold pin fitting, circa 1900, measuring 2.1×2.4cm, the pin measuring 7.5cm long, gross weight 3.8 grams.
