A Fabergé white enamel and diamond circular pill box, the translucent /white enamel with undulating guilloché ground and circular rock crystal section to top and base, each with a rose diamond surround with silver cut-down settings, bearing the marks for Fabergé and the initials of Workmaster August Hollming, measuring 2.8cm wide and 1.1cm deep,gross weight 14.6 grams, St Petersburg 1896-1908.
This delicate and exquisite pill box was made by Fabergé. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and best-known jewellery house. The house has become known for their royal commissions and their close ties to the family of Tsar Nicholas II. The diminutive box is decorated with white guilloche enamel and has a wonderful rock crystal top and base. The lid and base are decorated with silver set with lively rose cut diamonds. This beautiful piece displays the fine craftsmanship Fabergé was famed for.
