This sumptuous bracelet exemplifies high Victorian style. The heavy gold links feature a large central cabochon-cut garnet surrounded by diamonds, pearls, and vivid blue enamel. The diamonds surrounding the garnet bounce light off the large stone, reflecting fiery flashes of red. The deep red garnet, midnight-blue enamel, and creamy white pearls complement each other beautifully. This stunning statement piece is regal and exquisite. Similar heavy bracelets featuring cabochon garnets can be seen in several mid-nineteenth century portraits by the French painter Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, highlighting the popularity of this style.
