An Art Deco Opal, Onyx And Diamond Mosaic Pendant
An Art Deco opal and onyx mosaic brooch, the oval panel a mosaic consisting of fire opal, black opal, and onyx, depicting three yachts at sunset, within a delicately scalloped border set with rose-cut diamonds, all set in platinum with gold back and pin fitting, circa 1920, measuring approximately 3.4 x 2cm, gross weight 8.3 grams.
A colourful Art Deco brooch. Created in around 1920, this brooch features a bright mosaic of fiery and colourful opal and onyx, tiled to create a scene of three yachts. This piece is reminiscent of stained glass, particularly, of stained glass by Louis Comfort Tiffany, whose detailed glass designs were popular during this era. Surrounding the mosaic scene is a classically Art Deco style frame, featuring sparkling diamonds set in a geometric pattern.
