A Victorian Enamel, Pearl And Diamond Brooch
A Victorian enamel, pearl and diamond brooch, the central silver entwined double heart and ribbon bow motif encrusted with rose diamonds, applied to a cobalt blue guilloché enamel marquise shaped panel with white enamel and pearl border, to a closed yellow gold mount, circa 1880, measuring approximately 3 x 1.7cm, gross weight 5.9 grams.
A romantic Victorian brooch. It features an oval face with royal blue guilloche enamel on which is set a lovely motif of two hearts intertwined and tied together with a ribbon. The hearts and ribbon are set throughout with glinting diamonds, which complement the deep blue enamel wonderfully. Surrounding the face of the brooch is a frame of luminous pearls set in yellow gold. This gorgeous piece epitomises the High Victorian taste for romantic motifs and rich, luxuriant colours.
