A Late Victorian Enamelled Fish Brooch
A late Victorian enamelled fish brooch, the fish delicately hand-enammelled in blue and pink, speared by a yellow gold bar with natural pearl termination, all to a yellow gold brooch fitting, circa 1890, measuring approximately 5.1×1.2cm, gross weight 6.6 grams.
A lovely example of late-Victorian jewellery based on a sporting theme, this beautifully enamelled fish has fascinating detailing. Covered in blue and pink iridescent scales, the fish appears to have been speared through by the pin, capped by a single natural pearl.
