A Demantoid Garnet And Diamond Pendant
An Edwardian diamond and demantoid garnet-set pendant, to the centre an oval cabochon-cut rock crystal applied with diamond-set ribbon-like decorations, surrounded by twenty-eight calibre-cut demantoid garnets, within a diamond-set wreath flanked with nine round demantoid garnets and diamond-set bow surmount, suspending a pear-shaped natural pearl drop, with a diamond set detachable loop, the diamonds estimated to weigh 1.7 carats in total, all set in platinum with yellow gold back, circa 1900, measuring approximately 4.7 x 3cm, gross weight 11.6 grams.
An enchanting early twentieth century pendant. This pendant features a central rock crystal which has been set with a ribbon decoration set throughout with diamonds. Surrounding the central rock crystal is a frame of calibre-cut lime green demantoid garnets, which provide a bright and colourful contrast to the diamonds. Surrounding the garnet frame is a boarder of foliate design, set with further diamonds and garnets. The top of the boarder features a lovely diamond-set bow, and the bottom features a suspended lustrous pearl. This piece captures the style of the Edwardian period.
