A Stylised Art Nouveau Pendant
A stylised Art Nouveau pendant, depicting a lady in profile with floral decorations and an old-cut diamond set on the forehead, all with blue, red and green plique-a-jour enamel, suspending a freshwater pearl, all mounted in yellow gold, measuring approximately 3.2 x 2.1cm, gross weight 4.1 grams, circa 1900.
A wonderful and delicate Art Nouveau pendant. This sweet pendant depicts the image of a women’s profile, crafted in a typically Art Nouveau, naturalistic style. The woman has a diamond set to the top of her forehead, and surrounding the face are swirling gold frames with colourful plique-a-jour or stained-glass enamel. Suspended from the pendant is a single freshwater pearl that complements the yellow gold and coloured enamel of this piece. This pendant would look lovely hung from a gold chain.
