A Multi Gem Regard Ring

An early Victorian REGARD ring, to the centre a floral cluster set with ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby, diamond, to gold shank with floral shoulders, circa 1840, head measuring 1.3×1.3cm, finger size G, gross weight 2.7grams.

A sweet and evocative early Victorian ring. This piece is an acrostic ring, meaning that the stones spell out a message. These rings were typically given to one’s sweetheart in the nineteenth century and have a lovely romantic connotation. This particular ring spells ‘REGARD’, a popular acrostic message in this era. The floral gold details of the ring’s setting are emblematic of the late Georgian and early Victorian period when designs were more detailed and featured foliate motifs. A lovely antique piece.

The finger size of most of our rings can be adjusted and our workshop will be happy to do this free of charge. If you do not know your finger size please request us to post you a finger measure.
