A Mid-19th Century Diamond Brooch
A mid-19th Century diamond brooch, designed as a miniature corsage ornament, with entwined scrolled leaves, suspending four foliate drops, all set throughout with old brilliant- and oval mixed-cut diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of 4.5 carats, all set in silver to a yellow gold mount, the drop diamonds set in cut-down silver collets, circa 1850, measuring approximately 5×3.5cm, gross weight 13 grams.
A beautiful diamond brooch. It was made in the mid-nineteenth century and features a motif of intertwined leaves with foliate drops. All the details are set throughout with a total of four and a half carats of dazzling old-cut diamonds. This sparkling and romantic piece recalls the look of a floral corsage and would look gorgeous pinned to the front of an evening gown.
