An exquisite necklace by Carlo Giuliano. Carlo Giuliano was known for his intricate renaissance-revival jewellery, which featured fine enamel work and gem-set decorations. Examples of his jewellery are in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and others. This fringed necklace features an elaborate collar of enamelled beads. Dropped from the beads are alternating fringe details. Every other fringe has bright colourful enamel detail, and all the fringe details end in three seed pearls. The combination of colourful enamel, bright yellow gold and lustrous pearls is exuberant and detailed and exemplary of Giuliano’s work.
