A Victorian Gold And Sapphire Snake Cufflinks

A Victorian gold and sapphire snake cufflinks, each link in the form of entwined serpent with cabochon-cut sapphire set head, linked together with gold chain, measuring approximately 1.3cm in diameter, circa 1890, gross weight 12.1 grams.

A graceful pair of antique cufflinks. These cufflinks each feature two links in the form of a coiled yellow gold serpent. The serpents each have a light blue cabochon-cut sapphire set in their heads, which contrasts beautifully with the yellow gold. During the Victorian era, the serpent was a popular motif in gentlemen’s jewellery and these cufflinks would add sculptural shape to any suit.
