A Fine Victorian Diamond Scroll Brooch

A fine Victorian diamond scroll brooch strung here as a centrepiece on a cultured pearl chocker necklace, centrally-set set with a row of graduating old European-cut diamonds and two old pear-shape-cut diamonds set vertically, all within an openwork panel of scroll design, set with approximately 14 carats of old-cut diamonds, all set in silver to yellow gold back, circa 1880, accompanied by detachable brooch fittings and five rows of cultured saltwater pearls each measuring approximately 5mm in diameter, the necklace measuring approximately 34.5 x 3.8cm, gross weight 74.9 grams, the diamond brooch centrepiece measuring approximately 5.4 x 3.8cm. Unmarked tested as 18ct and 14ct gold and silver. Victorian brooch/clasp in excellent condition, with later fittings applied.

Featuring an impressive, combined weight of 14 carats of diamonds, this marvellous piece is incredibly eye-catching and sparkling. Created in the late Victorian era, this brooch is currently mounted as a stunning centrepiece on a five-row pearl choker. The centrepiece can be detached from the pearls and worn as a brooch or as a pendant on another necklace or a velvet ribbon. A truly magnificent piece.
