A Victorian Pearl And Enamel Yellow Gold Belt Bracelet
A Victorian pearl and enamel yellow gold belt bracelet, to the centre a domed buckle set with four cultured pearls surrrounded by blue enamel border attached to a flexible yellow 18ct gold bracelet with vertical lines to the centre bordered by rope detail leading to an enamel and pearl termination enabling the bracelet to slide open and tighten, stamped West and Son Dublin, circa 1850, maximum diameter 6.6cm, gross weight 31.1 grams.
A gorgeous Victorian bracelet. This piece is crafted in the popular Victorian shape of a belt buckle, featuring a yellow gold band and a blue enamel and pearl buckle. The royal blue enamel provides a wonderful and luxurious contrast to the yellow gold, while the pearls are lustrous and luminescent. Similar enamel and gold bracelets can be seen in the mid-nineteenth century portraits by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres.
