A striking antique Egyptian revival scarab brooch. After Napoleon’s Egyptian campaign in 1798, Egyptian symbolism and styles became very popular in the nineteenth century. This brooch follows in that tradition, and features a stunning cabochon-cut sapphire that makes up the body of the Scarab, studded with diamonds and flanked by wings of enamel and ruby. This brooch would be exquisite on a scarf or lapel and would add drama to any outfit.
