An Early Victorian Amethyst Bracelet
An early Victorian amethyst and diamond bracelet, composed of three flowerhead each set with old cut diamond at the centre and round faceted amethyst petals surrounded by fine filigree decoration, alternating with similar design lonzene shape links, all to a back consisted of seven rows of fine trace chain, circa 1840s, measuring approximately 18 x 1.5cm, gross weight 19.9 grams.
A gorgeous early Victorian bracelet. It features yellow gold filigree and bright, lilac-hued amethyst, both stylistic hallmarks of the period. The bracelet is comprised of a fine chain culminating in three gold flowerheads, each set with amethyst petals surrounding a dazzling old-cut diamond centre. The petals are surrounded by fine beadwork and filigree decoration, which provides a lovely complement to the colour of the amethyst. This piece perfectly exemplifies the transition between Georgian jewellery and Victorian.
