A late Victorian miniature diamond bull dog brooch, the body set with old brilliant-cut diamonds all set in silver with yellow gold collar and ruby set eyes to a yellow gold back and pin, safety chain and pin attached to the dog’s back, circa 1900, measuring approximately 2 x1.3cm, gross weight 3.3grams.
A charming bulldog brooch. It features a gold bar pin, from which is suspended a gold chain holding a realistically carved bulldog bulldog. The bulldog is set with lively diamonds throughout and has vibrant ruby-set eyes.This piece was made around the end of the nineteenth century and exemplifies the late Victorian taste for whimsical items of jewellery.
