An Edwardian Pearl And Diamond Pendant
An Edwardian pearl and diamond pendant, the natural saltwater pear shaped pearl, accompanied by a Gem and Pearl Laboratory report, suspended within an ornate curling, ribbon and bow diamond-set surround, all millegrain-set in platinum to a yellow gold mount, suspended by a fine platinum trace chain 45cm long, circa 1910, measuring approximately 5 x 2.7cm, gross weight 12.1 grams.
A delicate and lovely Edwardian pendant. This piece features an exquisite platinum motif of a curved ribbon, set throughout with glittering diamonds. The ribbon forms several elegant bows that loop around to form a frame. Within the frame is suspended a natural saltwater pearl with beautiful nacre. The pearl is surrounded by a further frame of diamonds. The combination of pearls and diamonds in a delicate openwork platinum design is typical of Edwardian style. This piece would be a romantic finishing touch to a bridal ensemble.
