A Late Victorian Red Enamel Lozenge-shaped Brooch

A late Victorian red enamel lozenge-shaped brooch, thirteen old-cut diamonds set on silver cut-down settings to a red background, surrounded by a white enamel boarder to a pearl surround, all to a yellow gold mount, circa 1880, measuring approximately 3.6 x 2.2cm, gross weight 7.8 grams. This late Victorian brooch is in very good condition. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold front and 14ct gold pin.

A beautiful late nineteenth century brooch. It features a navette-shaped plaque decorated with red guilloché enamel and set with dazzling diamonds. The border of the brooch features white enamel with yellow gold decorations and a further border of lustrous natural pearls. This beautiful piece would be an elegant addition to the centre front of an evening gown.
