A Belle Epoque freshwater natural pearl, ruby and diamond brooch pendant, the circular-cut ruby and single-cut diamond ribbon bow surmount suspending a large natural freshwater baroque pearl drop with rose-cut diamond cap, within a single-cut diamond millegrain-set wreath surround, accented by calibré-cut ruby ribbons, detachable fittings, circa 1905, measuring approximately 4 x 2.4cm, gross weight 14.8grams.
An exquisite Belle Epoque brooch and pendant. This piece features a beautiful pear-shaped frame of diamonds set with crossed rubies. Atop the frame is a glittering diamond-set bow, in the centre of which is set a vibrant round ruby. In the centre of the frame hands a beautiful natural freshwater pearl with excellent nacre, suspended from a diamond-set cap. This elegant piece exemplifies the taste for feminine and romantic jewellery in the early twentieth century. This piece can be worn as a brooch or as a pendant, hung off a velvet ribbon or a chain.
