A Victorian Gold Belcher Link Guard Chain
A Victorian gold belcher link guard chain, the open round belcher chain, each link engraved with a chevron pattern, to a barrel push clasp, circa 1860, measuring approximately 100 x 0.6cm, gross weight 32.44 grams. Unmarked tested as 18ct gold chain and 15ct gold tongue. A Victorian Gold Belcher Link Guard Chain in very good condition for its age.
A very attractive chain. In the mid-Victorian era, when this piece was created, long chains such as these would have held a fob watch. Today, they look lovely doubled up around the neck alone or with a few gold charms hung from them. This is a classic and wearable textured chain.
