More informationAn Edwardian diamond and emerald festoon swag necklace, the collar necklace decorated with two old brilliant-cut diamond floral clusters and three rose- and old brilliant-cut diamond set foliate design bars suspending a pear-shape pendant drop emerald each and two festoon swags of a foliate design connected to a graduated old brilliant-cut diamond line centre, estimated to weigh a total of 4.5 carats, all silver set with a milligrain finish to a gold mount, on a black velvet collar to a concealed slide clasp, circa 1905, gross weight 15.2 grams.
A magnificent Edwardian choker necklace. This piece features an array of floral and swagged diamond and emerald decorations. Three diamond set foliate bars are set to a plush velvet ribbon, between which are two floral clusters also set with diamonds. Between the three foliate bars are festoon swags of diamonds which are decorated with diamond-capped emerald drops. Similar ornate chokers were worn by Princess Alexandra of Denmark (later Queen Alexandra of England), and the style became very popular during the late Victorian and Edwardian era.
