A Georgian Diamond Set Jasmine Flower Brooch

A Georgian diamond set jasmine flower brooch, to the centre set with old brilliant-cut diamond estimated to weigh 0.85 carats, surrounded by six petals set throughout with old-cut diamonds graduating from the centre and estimated to weigh a further total of 6 carats, grain set in a silver cutdown setting with brooch fitting, circa 1780, diameter 37mm, gross weight 12.5 grams.

A glittering diamond brooch. It is in the shape of a jasmine flower, a flower that has been revered for centuries for his delicate appearance and scent. This piece was made in around 1780, making it a wonderful example of late-Georgian era elegance. The diamond at the centre of the flower is dazzling and surrounded by a total combined weight of six carats of glittering stones. This beautiful and romantic piece would be a beautiful addition to a bridal ensemble or worn on the lapel of a boucle summer jacket.
