A Victorian Ruby And Diamond Ring
A Victorian ruby and diamond ring, the ruby estimated to weigh 0.8 carats, accompanied by GCS report, stating to be of Burmese origin with no indication of heating, surrounded by six old-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 0.3 carats in total, all mounted in yellow gold, circa 1880, later hallmarked Bentley & Skinner 18ct gold, the head measuring approximately 0.9 x 1.2cm, gross weight 3.5 grams. This ring is in very good condition, the ruby bearing signs of abrasion consistent with the age of the ring.
A beautiful Victorian ring. It features an openwork yellow gold buttercup setting, with the claws of the setting delicately cradling the bright ruby. The ruby is a lovely hue of pinkish red, making it bright and bold and a perfect pairing with the yellow gold setting. Six glittering diamonds surround the setting, adding extra sparkle and luxury to this pretty, feminine piece.
