A late victorian sapphire and diamond heart ring, the Burmese pear-shaped sapphire weighing 1.22 carats, surrounded by rose-cut diamond set cluster, surmounted by rose-cut diamond set bow, circa 1890, the head measuring 1.2×0.9cm, finger size L, gross weight 2.6 grams.
A romantic and beautiful late Victorian heart ring. This ring features a single pear-cut sapphire mounted in a heart-shaped frame set with glinting diamonds. The heart is topped with a diamond-set bow. Heart rings such as this were popular in the second half of the nineteenth century, and this is an excellent example of this lovely style. The sapphire is a stunning shade of royal blue, which is well complemented by the diamonds and the yellow gold split shank band. This piece would make a wonderful unique engagement ring.
