An Early Victorian Chrysoberyl And Yellow Gold Necklace
An early Victorian chrysoberyl necklace, the thirty-eight graduating chrysoberyls ranging approximate from 5.1 x 6.3mm to 8.7 x 10 mm each set within a close-back cut-down setting with very fine filigree decorations, all in yellow gold, to a hidden snap clasp, circa 1830, measuring approximately 42cm in length, gross weight 50.7 grams. A Victorian chrysoberyl necklace in very good condition, with dents on the back consistent with the age and use. Unmarked tested as 18ct gold.
A gorgeous and stately necklace. This piece was made in around 1830, at the end of the Georgian era. Each glittering and eye-catching chrysoberyl is set in a delicate filigree reminiscent of Ancient Etruscan craftsmanship. This wonderful necklace would add sparkle and sophistication to a black-tie ensemble.
