A LATE VICTORIAN VARI-COLOURED SAPPHIRE FRINGE NECKLACE
A late Victorian vari-coloured sapphire, ruby and pearl fringe necklace, the front composed of nine graduated oval mixed-cut vari-coloured sapphires including including blue, pink, yellow, green and purple, the stones graduating in size from approximately 6.5 x 5.7mm to 10.5 x 8.5mm centre front, each sapphire claw-set at the base of a bar with scroll detail set with a single silver mounted old cut diamond accent and a pearl surmount and each aforementioned bar alternating with two graduated claw-set rubies, all suspended from a yellow gold trance link chain, bolt ring clasp, length approximately 38cms, circa 1890, gross weight 18.5 grams.
