A Regency amethyst and gold brooch
A Regency amethyst and gold brooch in the form of a cross, the five principle oval mixed-cut amethysts and four smaller amethysts, cut down collet set to a closed yellow gold mount embellished with canetille decoration, each arm terminating in a circular-cut amethyst, with brooch and pendant fittings, circa 1820, measuring approximately 6.3 x 5.2cm, gross weight 19.2 grams.
We hereby confirm to the best of our knowledge, that the above item is over 100 years old and therefore antique. Unmarked tested as 18ct Gold (pin lower than 9ct and gives reaction to silver acid)
